Rogers Communications/


Mobilicity was a new wireless carrier that won spectrum license to provide wireless services to five major cities in Canada in 2008. As one of the founding employees I was engaged to start branded retail operations under an independent dealer model. Mandated to perform several roles as the business’s life cycle evolved from start up to the sale to Rogers Communications, and the eventual shut down of operations. In many cases I performed roles simultaneously as the demands of the business evolved. Below is a time line of this experience.


Senior Manager, chatr branded retail

Leveraging my experience , I was accontable for the performance of over 250 retail sales associates 35 dealer principles, and 5 Dealer Business Managers on a National scale. Engaged in management and development of the independent retail channel by being accountable for the successful merger, rebranding, business process integration, marketing implementation, analytics, and the complete sales management of the channel. 


Director, National Retail 


Directed Mobilicity's resources to sell in the Walmart, Loblaw, and 3rd party retail channels. My mandate was to ensure vendor complaince to sell in this channel, and eventually end the contratutral relationship leaving only 3rd party retail as a sustainable channel. This role was performed in conjunction with my role as Manager of Partner Acquisition and Real Estate. 


Regional Manager, Alberta


I was relocated into this role at the direction of the president of Mobilcity. After the sucessful launch of the Toronto market I was sent to Edmonton with my regional team to establish the dealer retail channel.

Once launched, the Edmonton business struggled and I was temorarily relocated to bring stability and increase sales to the region. The role evloved to support Calgary.


Regional Manager, GTA

Accountable for 70% of Mobilicity's activation volume comprised of 134 retail locations in the GTA and the largest contributor to Mobilicity's revenue stream. My role evolved and I was mandated to provide operational leadership for Regional Managers in Western and Eastern Canada in addition to my current responsibilities. In this expanded role I developed and implemented of national Marketing programs, sales operation initiatives, finance, and reporting functions.


Manager, Partner Acquisition and Real Estate 


My primary focus was to expand the branded retail presence in Canada. Mandated to acquire new dealers, negotiate leases for suitable real estate, and operationally establish locations. I have developed sharp negotiating skills, contracts experience, and a scientific approach for location selection based on target market criteria. This role expanded into my involvement with all aspects of Mobilcity's real estate concerns including lease agreements with cell sites, mall head leases, and office space. The role was specifically designed to advance Mobilcity's presence as a carrier start up. This role was perfomed while performing my duties as Regional Manager


Manager Exclusive Dealer Channel, GTA 

Originally hired to lead Mobilcity's dealer channel which was to become the most profitable channel generating over 120,000 net subscribers per year. However there was no dealer channel or a support structure during the company's start up phase. In this phase I hired a regional team, developed the processes to support an independently- owned retail channel, acquired 12 new dealer partners and the started of 28 branded dealer locations. I designed the financial model for location sustainability,  implemented the process for acquiring, establishing, and the strategic mapping of Mobilcity’s dealer channel.
